About Us
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) is a surgical branch that helps treat fractures of the face and the jaws, pathologies, infection, removal of wisdom teeth, problems of the joint of the jaws, cleft lip and palate, cancer of the head and neck region, correction of jaw deformities and even deals with rehabilitation of the teeth through dental implants and hair & skin rejuvenation of the head and neck. Our department at NPDCH has treated more than 3,00,000 patients over the span of 18 years helping them live a better life. 36 fully modernized dental chairs cater to the need for these procedures. Recently another section has been added to the state of the art, fully air-conditioned and compartmentalized clinic comprising of four chairs exclusively for the minor surgical procedures for the staff. Department is actively involved in rendering a variety of treatments ranging from simple extraction of teeth to major surgical procedures.The department is attached to Nootan General Hospital & Research center with well-equipped and sophisticated operation theater, ICU, casualty department, male and female wards.

Basic Oral Surgery Skill (BOSS) was conducted as a series of webinar through online platform which addressed the need for foundational skills upgradation in undergraduate and post graduate students. Various National level speakers and faculty shared from the depths of their knowledge and enlightened the students.

Facial Rejuvenation
A beautiful lecture and live demonstration on various minimally invasive techniques of facial rejuvenation was conducted by Dr. Arun Panda and moderated by Dr. Sailesh Menat. Students and Delegates closely learned with live descriptive demonstration on patients about botox, fillers and PRP treatments.
Immediate Implant Placement
Leading Implantologist and Dentist in U.S.A. Dr. Brijesh Patel conducted a lecture on the relevance and importance of giving patient the option of immediate implant placement which drastically reduces the time from patient having no teeth to a functional prosthesis.
Live surgical workshop on management of oral cancer
A renowned national faculty, Dr. Kalpesh Chhajer, conducted a lecture followed by live surgical demonstration on a patient describing the methods of diagnosis, precautions in biopsy, radiological analysis, treatment planning, surgical removal followed by reconstruction in cases of Oral Cancer.
Live surgical workshop on orthognathic surgery
Internationally acclaimed renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Nehal Patel conducted a lecture followed by live surgical workshop on orthognathic surgery through an online platform which was moderated by Dr. Anil Managutti.
Megha Plastic Surgery Camp, Nootan hospital
An Established and renowned Plastic and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Raj Lalla in association with Nootan General Hospital and Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery conducted a general plastic surgery and cleft lip & palate surgery camp on 27th and 28th of September 2022.
Post traumatic facial deformities
Nationally and Internationally renowned Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Manikandan Ramanathan (FDSRCS) held a lecture and live surgical demonstration on deformities created after and accident, functional, aesthetic and social problems faced by the patient, how to approach the problem and rehabilitation options through autografts and allografts.

This program was planned and hosted by Dr. Anil Managutti (Prof. & HoD, OMFS, NPDCH, SPU). He invited various national speakers and experts in the field of Dentistry to talk about various advances in dentistry, new equipments and machines available, new diagnostic and radiographic tools, importance of upgrading yourself with time and trends.

This program was planned and hosted by Dr. Anil Managutti (Prof. & HoD, OMFS, NPDCH, SPU). He invited various national speakers and experts in the field of Dentistry to talk about various advances in dentistry, new equipments and machines available, new diagnostic and radiographic tools, importance of upgrading yourself with time and trends.

1.Dr. Anil Managutti: He is a nationally well recognised and acclaimed faculty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department who was awarded best academician in 2016. He has been a well respected EC member of the national as well as state branch through the years. He has chaired many sessions in national and state conferences of AOMSI and has contributed as Scientific Committee Chairperson (2021) and is a member of research committee (2023-24). He has also been a state representative to AOMSI (2023-24).
2.Dr. Shailesh Menat: He is a well recognised faculty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department who has been a panellist and chaired many sessions in AOMSI – Gujarat State Chapter and was judge 7th Annual Conference of AOMSI Gujarat State chapter. He has been a speaker and delegate at many national and state conferences imparting his clinical knowledge.
3.Dr. Nirav Patel: He is a well recognised faculty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department who was a University Gold Medallist and is a well known dental and maxillofacial implantologist in Gujarat. He has chaired various sessions in AOMSI –Gujarat State chapter conferences, has been an EC member and was also a part of the Executive Committee of National AOMSI in the year 2022-23.
4.Dr. Parth Suthar: He is a well recognised faculty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department who was a University Gold Medallist and is well known in North Gujarat. He was chairperson in 4th Joint Conference Gujarat & Rajasthan State Chapter AOMSI at Jaipur – 2024 and is appointed as the EC Member for the year 2024-25.
5.Dr. Ritu Chhatbar: She is a well recognised faculty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department who was chairperson in 3rd & 4th Joint Conference Gujarat & Rajasthan State Chapter AOMSI at Surat (2023) and Jaipur (2024). She has been consecutively appointed as EC Member in AOMSI- Gujarat State Chapter for 3 years (2021-22, 2022-23 & 2023-24).

About Us
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Narsinbhai Patel Dental College and Hospital (NPDCH), under Sankalchand Patel University, is a premier center for advanced clinical training, academic excellence, and cutting-edge research in the field of maxillofacial surgery.
Our department offers comprehensive undergraduate, postgraduate (MDS), and PhD programs, preparing future surgeons with the skills, knowledge, and ethical values necessary to excel in clinical practice, academia, and research. We specialize in the diagnosis and surgical management of diseases, injuries, and defects involving the oral and maxillofacial region — including trauma, tumors, cleft lip and palate, orthognathic surgery, TMJ disorders, and implantology.
The department is equipped with modern operation theatres, a dedicated minor surgery suite, advanced imaging facilities, and a fully functional trauma care unit. Our faculty includes experienced and board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons committed to providing quality education and patient care.
