Brief Description of the Department
Anatomy is a science that deals with the structures of human body. Study of the anatomy is done mainly on human cadaver by dissection.
The Department of Human Anatomy became functional in the year 2006 as per the DCI norms. Department of human Anatomy is devoted to excellence in Teaching, learning, & research, and to develop Scholars in medical subject.
Available human bodies in the departments are 2 (1 female, 1 male). Dissection of human body is done as per regions of the body; which are head and neck, brain, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and limbs.
Anatomy is taught by various following methods for UG & PG students:
- Dissections of human cadaver
- Demonstrations (bones, cadaveric specimens, models, charts)
- Study of slides in microanatomy(Histology) by microscopes
- Magazine and research paper reading
- Plastination model study
- Research paper on-going of Mandible
